In January, The Texas Primary Reading Inventory will be administered to all first graders between January 14 and January 25. Your child will be assessed on proficiency in oral reading, reading speed, and comprehension. Please continue to have your child read to an adult at least 20 minutes per day, 7 days a week, as part of the first grade homework. Your child should read to you from a book on or close to his/her reading level, such as the Book Trade supplementary reader.
